Welcome to Amour.to.
Many years ago, I went to Paris and saw the love locks on Pont Neuf. Later, I heard they were going to be removed, because their weight was harming the bridge.
Over a pain au chocolat, the soon to be dissappearing locks stayed in my thoughts. Locks are a good analogy for love — an object that begins strong and inviolate, and over time weathers, ages, changes, yet still hangs on.
The idea struck me that I could build a virtual bridge where people could place virtual locks. Ideas arrive that way sometimes: jet-lagged, over a pastry. I didn’t do anything with it for many years. Then the circumstances came together, and here it is.
